In short

A three-pass workflow for turning saved reels into original scripts, with fact checks, Notion tracking and an honest Flipscript review.

My saved Instagram folder was full of formats I wanted to study and almost never used. I took one reel through Flipscript and Claude to make a script I could actually record. The first version changed the tools in the story, so the useful part of the workflow was checking and correcting it.

How do you turn a saved reel into a script of your own?

I chose a reel by @sanjai.builds that compared three AI agents in about 50 seconds. I wanted to learn from its structure: a clear opening, one short block per tool, a recap and a call to action. A popular reel is a reference, not proof that my own version will perform the same way.

I pasted the link into Flipscript. It produced a transcript, notes on the hook and format, and a new draft script. That saved me the blank-page step. It also introduced a problem I would have missed if I had treated the result as finished.

What went wrong in the first draft?

The first flip changed the three tools I was comparing. It had borrowed the format and invented a different comparison, with claims I had not supplied. I would not have posted it.

On the second pass, I told Flipscript to keep the original tools, claims, sequence and comment trigger. I also named my audience: non-technical professionals who want to understand what the tools could change in their work. The topic stayed in place, but the hook still sounded like a template.

I moved that draft to Claude for a voice pass. I asked it to keep the facts and the order while changing the opening and wording to something I would say. I then read the result myself before marking it ready. Three passes were needed for this example; your first good draft may come sooner.

Can Claude organise a saved-reel workflow for you?

I use three Chrome tabs: my saved Instagram collection, Flipscript and a Notion database called Flipped Scripts. Claude in Chrome opens a reel, copies its link, runs the first flip and saves the source and draft to Notion. I tested that process on my Croatian account before using it for this English example.

Each Notion row keeps the original link, transcript, hook, call to action, first flipped script and final script together. The status starts as Draft. I review the facts and voice before changing it to Ready, then mark it Posted only after publication.

I cap a session at five reels and ask Claude to pause between them. The Instagram step is read-only: it may open a reel and copy its link, but must not like, comment, follow or change my saved collection. It stops if Instagram shows a login check or warning. You can do that first step yourself if you prefer.

Many of the reels I save end with a comment trigger: comment a word, get the link by DM. When I post my own version, DMdaddy sends that DM automatically to everyone who comments the keyword. It is an affiliate link, so I may earn a commission if you sign up through it, at no extra cost to you.

Is Flipscript worth paying for?

I paid $47 for lifetime access. That was my purchase price, not a current price quote. I bought it for the transcription and first script pass, then kept the editing and fact checks in my own hands. If you make one occasional reel, try the same steps manually before buying a tool.

Flipscript is an affiliate link. I earn a commission if you buy through it, at no extra cost to you.

The full Substack walkthrough shows the three versions, screenshots, my finished reel, a Notion template and both copy-paste prompts. Start with one saved reel, read the first flip closely and write down what the tool changed without permission.
